5.5 years (4.5 years academics + 1 year internship)
Eligibility
Class 12 with PCB, minimum 50% aggregate (40% for reserved). Urdu/Arabic/Persian as an additional subject at qualifying level is required in some states. Minimum age 17.
Entrance exam
NEET UG followed by AACCC / state AYUSH counselling.
Fees range
Government: ₹10,000 – ₹40,000/yr · Private: ₹1 – 3 lakh/yr
About the BUMS programme
BUMS is regulated by the NCISM (Board of Unani) and combines classical Unani principles with modern medical sciences.
The course covers Tashreeh-ul-Badan (anatomy), Munafe-ul-Aza (physiology), Ilmul Advia (pharmacology) and clinical subjects.
Graduates register with State Boards of Indian Medicine to practise as Hakims / Unani physicians.
